SAP Enterprise Information Management

Having the right tools and processes to manage company data is crucial for digital transformation. With SAP Enterprise Information Management, NNIT helps you turn raw data into real numbers so you can make informed choices for the company.

In the ERP system, you can see figures for the sale of item A over the last five years. The upward curve looks promising, so you approve investment in new production equipment. But how do you know if the curve will continue in the same direction for the next five years?

It is important to make use of all the data that the company stores about customers, products and prices. The figures not only tell us about the past - how sales went last year, how much discount a customer got on an order and how prices have evolved since the turn of the century. The figures can also predict how sales will go this year, the discount a customer ought to get on an order, and how prices will develop.

- Based on your own numbers, market research and external information, Information Management can provide advanced predictions on how things will go. The system can round up large amounts of data and create realistic what-if scenarios for business managers to test. Metaphorically speaking, you get an indication of which gears you need to replace to initiate development or change, explains Rasmus Jakobsen, Manager of SAP Enterprise Information Management at NNIT.

- This gives you a digital transformation home advantage; where you can predict a development or trend whilst also managing your own data and the processes around it. This basically means that you will be far more agile than your competitors, he adds.

Watch it happen

Instead of a classic table full of numbers, Rasmus Jakobsen has observed that data is now presented visually to a greater extent than previously. This makes it quicker and easier to get an overview of large amounts of data. This applies, for example, to Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence where, as the names suggest, a lot of heavy data is in play.

- Everything you do in the company revolves around static master data that is linked to other master data to form a transaction. This, for example, could be a product description linked to a price and a customer that results in an order transaction. This information should be stored so that it can be uniquely referenced from the company's customer master data. If there is no governance of master data - processing and storage - then the result will be a lot of different customer master data, where information could lead to misinformation. When the link between transactions and master data is under control, visualization of data in a Business Intelligence system gives a clear advantage, and allows you to easily get an overview of the massive data volumes within the company, explains Rasmus Jakobsen.

We can help you help yourself

The pharmaceutical sector, in particular, has a lot of data that companies need to process, keep track of or otherwise manage. NNIT has its roots in Novo Nordisk and as a result has IT service provider data management as a discipline in its DNA. When it comes to SAP applications, NNIT is a Full Stack Service Provider.

– This means we can help all the way from the engine room via development, to implementation and support of SAP products. Using visualizations, reports, and metrics, we can help companies make use of the valuable data they generate and collect. This allows them to concentrate on running and developing their core business, says Rasmus Jakobsen.
