NNIT’s history dates back to 1994. But it didn’t start there. As part of Novo Nordisk, our roots go much further back in time.

In 2007 NNIT generated a turnover of DKK 1,165 m, which translated into growth of 15% and profits of DKK 159 million before tax.

In 2006, NNIT's turnover exceeded DKK 1 billion for the first time. Turnover for the year rose by 14% to DKK 1,016 million.

NNIT's CEO of many years, Torben Skriver Frandsen, is retiring and hands over the seat to Per Kogut.

NNIT opens offices in both the Czech Republic and China to get access to the right competencies.

In 2005 NNIT generated a turnover of DKK 890 m, which translated into growth of 11% and profits of DKK 105 million before tax.

By June 2005 NNIT begin to follow Danish Standard’s security standard, DS484. NNIT is thereby the first Danish IT supplier certified to live up to the requirements made by the Danish public sector.
With the DS484 NNIT is automatically certified according to the international Information Security Management Standard BS7799.

In 2004 NNIT had another year with a positive development in the yearly turnover. NNIT realised a turnover of DKK 801 m equalling a 12% growth compared to 2003. In 2004 the yearly net profit was DKK 92 m, which is DKK 17 m above the 2003 net profit.

NNIT is at the top of Danish financial newspaper Børsen’s list of the best-performing Danish consulting houses based on financial reporting data.
NNIT became CMMI-certified (Capability Maturity Model® Integration) at level 2. CMMI is the leading international model for evaluating an organisation’s level of maturity.
With this certification, NNIT joins a small, exclusive group of software providers in Denmark who live up to the highest standards of quality and reliability as a supplier.

Novo Nordisk IT changes its name to NNIT. The change recognises that growth in the years to come must primarily be achieved via existing and new customers outside Novo Nordisk.
August 2003
NNIT Academy opens its doors. The aim of its curriculum is to give all Novo Nordisk IT employees a broad understanding of the complexities inherent to the pharmaceutical industry today – and an understanding of what it takes to create and improve Novo Nordisk IT’s success.

The Zurich sales office opens, strengthening our ambition to become a leading IT provider in the European market.

Communication agency e|sense is purchased. Now we have even stronger skills in web communication and branding.

Novo Nordisk IT enters into alliances with Microsoft, SAP, Documentum, Oracle, Siebel and others.

Novo Nordisk IT is certified at level 2 of the People Capability Maturity Model® (PCMM), the first European company to do so. This methodology ensures improvement in Novo Nordisk IT’s work processes and security.

Novo Nordisk IT A/S is incorporated as a limited liability company – owned by Novo Nordisk A/S.

Novo Nordisk IT becomes one of the first Danish IT companies to achieve ISO 9001-certification.

Novo Nordisk splits out its IT activities into an independent unit and profit centre called Novo Nordisk IT – the current NNIT. This results from the merger of the two IT departments in Healthcare and Enzyme, and Novo Nordisk Data Service Division, respectively.
