MainpagePress:NewsKøbenhavns Amt outsources IT operations to NNIT

17 June 2005

Today, NNIT has signed an outsourcing agreement with Københavns Amt (Copenhagen County). The Agreement covers operation of Københavns Amt’s IT environment over a four year period and is valued in the hundreds of millions.

At this time the agreement with Københavns Amt is the largest contract NNIT has won within the public sector, and it is considered a definite breakthrough for NNIT.

”We are extremely proud that Københavns Amt has chosen to outsource the operation of their IT system to us. Together with the other outsourcing agreements we have won over the last few years, this helps to cement our position on the market,” says Michael Bjerregaard, Vice President of Sales and Marketing in NNIT.

The agreement involves operation and maintenance of Københavns Amts IT environment (centralised/decen- tralised servers, infrastructure/networks, clients, databases etc.) along with hardware maintenance and on-going consulting for the optimisation of the environ-ment.

NNIT has subcontracted parts of the outsourcing delivery to TOPNORDIC. NNIT and TOPNORDIC will thus benefit from using the same delivery model as they are using successfully with other customers.

Københavns Amt has the opportunity to continuously expand e.g. in relation to the pending structural reforms. Additionally, the agreement includes the operation of Københavns Amt’s future electronic patient journal system.

”This is a dream assignment for us,” says Michael Bjerregaard. ”Københavns Amt has a large and very complex IT environment, and with NNIT’s knowledge of IT operations, standardisation and process optimisation, we are convinced that we can contribute significantly to the continuous development of Københavns Amt’s IT infrastructure.”
