NNIT has recently won one of the largest outsourcing contracts so far with the meat processing group Danish Crown in which NNIT will handle operation, service and hotline of the business system SAP.

Initially, the contract is for a three year period, although it can be extended to 5 years, for a large double-digit amount in the DKK millions. NNIT won the contract in an open tender and takes over the operation of the system from Danish Crown’s former supplier, IBM.

Danish Crown is Denmark’s fourth largest business group with a turnover of more than DKK 48 billion and more than 25,000 employees.
 
The company has production in a number of countries besides Denmark among others England and Poland. Thus, Danish Crown has one of the largest SAP installations.

“NNIT delivered the most convincing presentation and the best combination of price and quality. Additionally, we checked with NNIT’s references and they provided NNIT with a good assessment,” says group financial executive Preben Sunke, Danish Crown.

He adds that NNIT has proven its competencies by handling systems for companies which are subjected to strict requirements from the authorities.

”The food industry is subjected to increasingly strict requirements from the authorities relating among other things to product traceability to ensure the safety of the consumer. NNIT can help us develop the systems so that they can adapt to the increasing requirements from the authorities,” says Preben Sunke.

The contract is NNIT’s largest so far in the western part of Denmark. Recently, NNIT signed an outsourcing agreement with Energinet.

”The deal has large business and strategic value for NNIT. SAP is a business critical system and we view it as a great pat on the shoulder that Danish Crown has entrusted NNIT with the operation of the system. Additionally, the tender shows that we are competitive and that must be interesting for other companies,” says Michael Bjerregaard, Vice President of Sales, NNIT.
