MainpagePress:NewsNew security certification

24 June 2005

Today NNIT was certified according to Danish Standard’s security standard, DS484. NNIT is thereby the first Danish IT supplier certified to comply with the requirements made by the Danish public sector. All IT suppliers to the public sector must comply with these requirements no later than December 2006.

”With this certification we stand much stronger when bidding for contracts in the public sector,” says John Vammen, Vice President in NNIT. ”In my opinion, being the first supplier who can prove compliance with the new security requirements shows that NNIT is in the lead when it comes to processes and quality.”

The certification is not only important in relation to the public sector. It was a natural next step in NNIT’ continuous work to improve processes and quality based on the ISO 9001, CMM(I), PCMM and ITIL.

”We are pleased that NNIT as the first and significant player in the IT market has seen the value of certifying their IT security according to DS 484,” says Peter Nygaard, certifications director, Danish Standard. ” This project has helped put focus on IT security not only from a technical perspective but from a business perspective as well. I have no doubt that both NNIT and their customers will benefit greatly from the certification.”

”DS484 guaranties the customers that security with the supplier is top quality,” John Vammen says.

With the DS484 certificate NNIT is also automatically certified according to the international Information Security Management Standard BS7799. This is relevant in relation to international projects with pharmaceutical companies that have to live up to security regulations from the American health authorities, the FDA, and related to the American Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.
