NNIT buys Philippine IT company in response to Microsoft development boom

NNIT has acquired Corebuilt Technologies, a Philippines based Microsoft development business. The acquisition will strengthen NNIT’s global sourcing competencies within the development of advanced Microsoft based solutions. Corebuilt, which is changing its name to NNIT Philippines Inc, has 50 employees.

Corebuilt has been NNIT’s regular business partner for more than four years – which has enabled NNIT to outsource projects, and subtasks on large development projects. The acquisition will mean that NNIT's Microsoft development department, with its more than 160 employees, will gain another 50 highly qualified colleagues; mainly developers, testers and project managers within the .Net and SharePoint Microsoft technologies. A capacity increase of more than 30 percent.

"We are strengthening our competencies while being able to offer a stronger sourcing-based supply model. We are therefore gearing ourselves up to meet the increasing demand for Microsoft competencies that we are experiencing in all our focus areas, not least in the public sector," says John Vammen, Corporate Vice President, NNIT Solutions.

NNIT and Corebuilt already share a joint system development platform and this will be further developed. "Now we'll be working even closer together with shared targets and focus. The supply chain will be more secure, and that will enable us to take on even larger and more complex tasks for our customers," he explains.

"The acquisition will give us a clearer focus on high quality at competitive prices while giving us a stronger foundation for recruiting locally and expanding the business further," says John Vammen.

Corebuilt was founded by Danish-born Uffe Henrichsen four years ago. Uffe Henrichsen will still manage NNIT’s Philippine subsidiary, now with the title of Vice President reporting to John Vammen.

"The Philippines will certainly become an ever more attractive destination for IT sourcing in the years ahead. The country has invested heavily in IT training and technological infrastructure. Wages are low and, due to the American influence, the Philippines is closer to Denmark than most other Asian countries in terms of both culture and language,” says John Vammen.
