History 

As a distinct entity, NNIT’s history dates back to 1994. But it didn’t start there. As part of Novo Nordisk, our roots go much further back in time.

March 2013
NNIT hires employee number 2000, and launches the annual report that shows that 2012 was another successful year for the company with a turnover of DKK 2,028 million.

February 2012
NNIT moves to a new Danish headquarters where approximately 1300 employees now is based.

December 2011
20 % of NNIT's employees works on sourcing destinations.

February 2011
NNIT opens new data center to support our customers even better.

August 2010
NNIT's China office hires its employee no. 150. 15 % of NNIT's employees now work outside Denmark.

August 2009
NNIT acquires Corebuilt Technologies - a Philippine based Microsoft development business with 50 employees. Corebuilt changes its name to NNIT Philippines Inc. The company is situated in Manila.

March 2008
In 2007, NNIT generates a turnover of DKK 1,165 million, reflecting growth of 15% and profits of DKK 159 million before tax.

December 2007
NNIT opens office in Aarhus, Denmark.

June 2007
NNIT reaches 1000 employees.

March 2007
In 2006, NNIT's turnover exceeds DKK 1 billion for the first time. Turnover for the year rose by 14% to DKK 1,016 million.

January 2007
NNIT's CEO of many years, Torben Skriver Frandsen, retires, handing over the reins to Per Kogut.

September 2006
NNIT opens office in China to get access to more of the right skills. The office is situated in Tianjin east of Beijing.

March 2006
NNIT opens office in the Czech Republic in the city of Olomouc.

In 2005, NNIT generates a turnover of DKK 890 million, which translates into growth of 11% and profits of DKK 105 million before tax.

June 2005
By June 2005, NNIT begins to follow Danish Standard’s security standard, DS484. NNIT is the first Danish IT supplier certified to comply with the requirements of the Danish public sector. With the DS484 certification, NNIT is automatically certified according to the international Information Security Management Standard BS7799.

March 2005
In 2004, NNIT has another year with growth in annual turnover. We realise sales of DKK 801 million, representing 12% growth compared with sales in 2003. In 2004, the annual net profit was DKK 92 million, which is DKK 17 million above the 2003 net profit.

January 2005
NNIT reaches 800 employees.

June 2004
NNIT is at the top of Danish financial newspaper Børsen’s list of the best-performing Danish consultancies based on financial reporting data.

NNIT becomes CMMI-certified (Capability Maturity Model® Integration) at level two. CMMI is the leading international model for evaluating an organisation’s level of maturity.

With this certification, NNIT joins a small, exclusive group of software providers in Denmark who live up to the highest standards of quality and reliability as a supplier.

January 2004
Novo Nordisk IT changes its name to NNIT. The change recognises that growth in the years to come must primarily be achieved via existing and new customers outside Novo Nordisk.

August 2003
NNIT Academy opens its doors. The aim of its curriculum is to give all Novo Nordisk IT employees a broad understanding of the complexities inherent to the pharmaceutical industry today – and an understanding of what it takes to create and improve Novo Nordisk IT’s success.

May 2003
The Zurich sales office opens, strengthening our ambition to become a leading IT provider in the European market.

April 2003
Communication agency e|sense is purchased. Now we have even stronger skills in web communication and branding.

February 2001 – March 2003
Novo Nordisk IT enters into alliances with Microsoft, SAP, Documentum, Oracle, Siebel and others.

April 2000
Novo Nordisk IT is certified at level two of the People Capability Maturity Model® (PCMM), as the first European company to achieve this certification. The PCMM methodology ensures improvements in Novo Nordisk IT’s work processes and security.

January 1999
Novo Nordisk IT A/S is incorporated as a limited liability company – owned by Novo Nordisk A/S.

September 1997
Novo Nordisk IT becomes one of the first Danish IT companies to achieve ISO 9001-certification.

June 1994
Novo Nordisk splits out its IT activities into an independent unit and profit centre called Novo Nordisk IT – the current NNIT. This results from the merger of the two IT departments in Healthcare and Enzyme, and Novo Nordisk Data Service Division, respectively.
